For example, if you do a Ghost image of your laptop drive, you can transfer the same image to another one, so you do not have to re-install Operating systems (like Windows) or any other programs/files that existed before.

A: Is there other way to create Ghost Image?
Q: Yes, you can also use external USB/Firewire/PCMCIA devices (like enclosures) to create the images. However, these approaches are usually much harder, and often unsupported by many computers due to BIOS limitations. Using this IDE converter is THE MOST STRAIGHT FORWARD way to achieve this purpose.
